Aretha Franklin & The Handwritten Will – EP. 88 – Life’s Third Act
    by TuckerAllen

Join Attorney-CPA Joe Cordell and Life’s Third Act researcher, Marlea Parson, as they unravel the story behind Aretha Franklin’s wills. In this episode, they explore the legal journey that began when two handwritten documents were discovered in the iconic singer’s suburban Detroit home.

Join Mr. Cordell and Ms. Parson as they dive into the courtroom drama that pitted Aretha Franklin’s sons against each other, with her estate hanging in the balance. They will cover the differences between the 2010 will, found in a cabinet, and the 2014 note tucked beneath a couch cushion, along with the legal battle that ensued. The pair will also be discussing the importance of having a witnessed and notarized will, why there is such a big difference between writing your own will and having a lawyer write it, and how this will help your estate avoid probate after passing.

If you have any questions about estate planning or elder law, get in touch with an attorney at TuckerAllen.
